Fondly nicknamed the ‘Kettle’ in the UK and the ‘Water Buffalo’ in the USA and Canada, Suzuki’s now legendary 3-ctylinder 2-stroke triple was introduced in 1972. As it’s GT moniker would suggest, the water cooled 750 was a very capable long distance cruiser – comfortable to ride and with a smooth and torquey motor. As far as outright performance was concerned, the GT750 was overshadowed by the blisteringly quick Kawasaki 750 H2, though the Suzuki was still a fast bike, more than capable of holding its own in the 70’s superbike market.
Now a true classic, many GT750’s offered for sale will be imports, most often from America, where the bike enjoyed considerable sales success. With values on the increase, even basket case and barn find examples are eagerly sought out by restorers.
