Though the sports bike market is still very buoyant, not everybody favours the head down, backside in the air riding position that a modern sports motorbike inevitably demands. The naked bike sector is growing year on year with many motorcyclists wanting the power of a sportsbike but the comfort and rideabilty of a naked machine. Taking inspiration from what were originally custom made ‘streetfighter’ style machines, most manufacturers offer naked bike alternatives in their range. Many larger engined nakeds have detuned versions of superbike engines making them slightly more tractable and often increasing available torque making them great fun to ride.
