Established in 1941 in Barcelona, Spain, and originally producing small capacity sporty 2-stroke machines, Montesa have long specialised in producing pure competition machines. Early examples of Montesa motocross bikes include the Impala 175 Cross (also known as the Montesa ‘Scrambler’) and the Cappra 250 and 360 MX. However, it is in the world of observed trials that Montesa machines are perhaps most famous with its Cota range of trial bikes.
