Founded in 1873 as an industrial machinery manufacturer, Laverda motorcycles are produced in Breganze, Italy. As with many Italian motorcycle manufacturers, Laverda began by producing small capacity bikes which were mainly sold in the home market. By the late 1960’s however the company was producing a 650cc twin cylinder machine which was the forerunner to its later and more famous triple cylinder offerings which included the now legendary Laverda Jota 1000, a bike which quickly became established as one of the first true ‘superbikes’. In later years, Laverda has gone on to manufacture some very individual and high quality machines including the Laverda 650 Sport and Formula which were also available in 750cc versions.
