Nowadays it is easier than ever to introduce your child to the world of motorcycling. With several manufacturers offering purpose designed kids motorbikes that are ideal to learn the basics of machine control and provide huge helpings of fun to almost any youngster that is able to manage a bicycle. For the youngest riders, the Yamaha PW50 (PW – ‘Pee Wee’) is small in stature and has a 50cc 2-stroke engine with ‘rev and go’ style transmission making it straightforward for even the most nervous of novices to get started. Honda offered the similar QR50, and latterly the CRF50 which has a 4-stroke engine also with a twist and go drive system. European manufacturers including Malaguti and LEM have offered similar machines but the Honda and Yamaha automatic childrens motorcycles have a deserved reputation for reliability and ease of use.
