Spanish manufacturer Derbi have a tradition of building small capacity 2-stroke motorbikes, mopeds and scooters. The current range includes the Derbi Senda and GPR bikes and 50 and 125cc scooters, whilst earlier models such as the Derbi Cross sports moped have now become sought after classic bikes in their own right. With a strong racing background (Derbi won World Championships in the 50, 80 and 125cc classes), production bikes are fun to ride and have a strong following particularly among younger riders. The Derbi Mulhacen 659 launched in 2006 was a radical departure for the company and the first bike they have produced with an engine bigger than 125cc. With flat tracker inspired styling and a Yamaha XT660R motor it is very distinctive bike indeed but rare in the UK.
